Nuh Çimento Sanayi A.Ş. port facilities are located on northern coast of İzmit Gulf, at coordinates 40 46,5 North 029 36,5 East in Hereke quarter of Kocaeli province. Located at the center of Istanbul / İzmit / Adapazarı line, which is the most significant trade and industry line of Turkey, the port has a distance of 300 meters to D-100 highway, around 1 kilometer to TEM (Trans European Motorway) highway and 500 meters to the factory site.

All berths are on the same line and there are joint 3 berths in total. Area of Berth I is 250 meters (draft equipped with conveyor system: 11.5 meters), area of Berth II is 200 meters (draft: 12 m.) and area of Berth III is 145 m. (draft 12 / 5 m., the last 30 meters is ro-ro ramp).

Ameco automatic ship loading crane and band conveyor system: By means of the automatic ship loading system mounted on the Berth 1, loading to ships is performed more quickly without any damage to the environment. The conveyor system, which is equipped with wholly closed and jet filters, allows loading of cement and clinker directly from the factory to the ship. Loading speed of the system is 600 ton/hour and, with the coast crane, coal unloaded from ships are conveyed to the factory by means of the same band system The max. air draft allowed in cement and clinker loading is 12 m.

Upon the implementation of coast conveying project which was initiated in 1996 and completed in 1997, a system allowing automatic loading of cement and clinker to the ship by means of an underground tunnel and pipe conveyor with a diameter of 3 m and length of 300 m has been put into use for the first time in Turkey.

The system is movable on rails through the berth and allows loading in accordance with all positions of ships. Conveying bands that carry clinker and cement to the crane stand on steel piles independently without making any burden on the berth.

Liebherr LPS 400 coast crane: Multi-purse Liebherr LPS 400 coast crane, which was completed and put into use in 2000, have a working tonnage of 104 mt and capacity of 650 t/h, is the biggest coast crane in the area we are located. All kinds of bulk cargo, general cargo, scrap, timber and container are handled by means of the attachments of the crane, which is movable on rails across the whole berth.

“International Ship and Port Security (I.S.P.S. Code)” rules, which are carried into effect in the whole world by International Maritime Organization (I.M.O.) and certified by Turkish Undersecretariat of Maritime Affairs, are applied in our port. OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety System is applied in factory and port sites of Nuh Çimento Sanayi A.Ş. and they are certificated by British Standards Institute (B.S.I.). All personnel members are trained and equipped with the all necessary equipment for intervention in cases of emergency (fire, earthquake, flood, etc.). There is a vehicle ready for 24 hours in the port to be used in case of emergency and there is an ambulance, which may be used for 24 hours, in our factory at a distance of 500 meters.
